Approve the proposal for a new database management system

EB Ballot #07-21

EB Ballot: #07-21 – Approve the proposal for a new database management system.

Motion by Jim Alloway, Treasurer, and seconded by Dennis Vander Linde, DAL, to approve of the contained proposal which will provide USCA a long-awaited database management system.

Background: For over a decade, USCA has envisioned managing and producing a USCA breed registration system. There has been a primary flaw in even the concept of a USCA registration system from inception; no matter how accurate, thorough, aesthetically pleasing the pedigrees looked, they had no real value, lacked recognition, and were ultimately seen as money not well-spent. That has all changed. Because of the steadfast, ardently focused work of our President Plotsker, the vision is now possible; our USCA pedigrees now have international recognition and acceptance. The production of pedigrees starts with the building and managing of a database.

The added benefits of this database include streamlining of many labor intensive processes, along with the ability to pull all kinds of important information, reports, and statistics about membership, dogs, classifications, trials, shows, reports, etc.
