EB #18-26 – To waive the 21-day notification period for Bay Area Schutzhund Club in CA for a Working Class Breed Evaluation (not a full show), Breed Survey, and AD scheduled for August 7, 2026.
Motion by Heidi Theis, USCA National Breed Warden, and seconded by Michele Elmore, Secretary, to waive the 21-day notification period for Bay Area Schutzhund Club in CA for a Working Class Breed Evaluation (not a full show), Breed Survey, and AD scheduled for August 7, 2026.
Background: Breed Judge Heidi Theis will be in CA for a training seminar scheduled for August 8-9, 2026, and is willing to help USCA members in need of breed surveys by judging a working-class-only breed evaluation, a breed survey, and an endurance test. Her schedule is already full for August 8-9 (weekend days for the seminar), and the only time she can do this small event is for the AD to be run Friday morning and the working-class breed evaluation and survey Friday afternoon/evening. The club has already notified the region of the event, pending EB approval. The event is posted on the USCA website. Heidi has already contacted the USCA office and the DOJ for approval for dog verifications and timing waivers.
Breed surveys do not happen very often in the North West region, and at least 3 of the potential entries are female dogs. Considering it is not easy to find a breed survey in this region, especially for a female with cycles trying to breed survey before a heat cycle, this would support our members/breeders.
The club is asking the EB to waive the 21-day notification in the best interest of the GSD breed and breeders, so members can achieve breed surveys.
