Motion by Heidi Theis, NBW on behalf of the BAC, seconded by Nathaniel Roque, DOJ, to approve cancellation of 2020 USCA National Show and approve temporary selection process for 2020 USCA Universal Sieger/Siegerin and 2021 Universal Team
Background: Due to the COVID-19 issues in our country, severe lack of travel options, and SV judges not wanting to commit to travel, the BAC must vote to cancel the 2020 USCA National Show. Cancelling this show places our 2020 Universal Sieger/Siegerin titles and the 2021 USCA Universal Team selection in jeopardy. Because of this, the BAC needs to set a temporary selection process for 2021.
Primary, Temporary Selection Process for Universal Sieger/Siegerin titles and 2021 Universal Team:
In lieu of National Show working class entry and show rating, I am proposing for there to be a ”Working Male Class” and a “Working Female Class” show, to be held in conjunction with the USCA GSD Nationals. These working classes will be judged by a USCA Conformation Judge to be determined and approved by the BAC at a later date. Dogs vying for the 2020 Universal Sieger/Siegerin titles and the 2021 Universal Team will need to enter the appropriate working class (male or female) and obtain a show rating of “G” or higher to be eligible. **Specifically to earn the Universal Sieger/Siegerin titles, the dogs must also enter the USCA GSD Nationals as outlined in the Universal Program.**
Secondary, Temporary Selection Process for 2021 Universal Team (if there are no candidates from the above listed selection process or it is cancelled):
- Entry into a USCA Regional Conformation Show (from January 1, 2020 through April 30, 2021) will be accepted in lieu of the above working class entry. Dog must obtain a show rating of “G” or higher to be eligible.
- Entry into the 2020 GSDCA Sieger Show will be accepted in lieu of the above working class entry. Dog must obtain a show rating of “G” or higher to be eligible.
- 2021 WDC is secondary working venue to be accepted in lieu of USCA GSD Nationals as already outlined in the Universal Program.
