USCA Teams with BSA For SAR

April 28, 2013 has been deemed the “Day of the Search & Rescue Dog”. To honor this day and in view of our international involvement under the RH program, the United Schutzhund Clubs of America is now participating with the Boy Scouts of America, who have adopted the RH platform for training purposes.

The first such training will take place with the Venturers in Philadelphia. This not only gives credibility to the RH program that other organizations find it beneficial, but also for giving USCA exposure on a global basis.

The Cradle of Liberty Council Boy Scouts of America will be hosting a themed weekend for Venturers in the Philadelphia metro area. The Venturing program serves coed youth ages 14 -20. The weekend will be hosted at one of the Council’s camp properties in Montgomery County. As a way to showcase scouting’s relationship with the Search and Rescue Community, the scouts will get to learn about Search and Rescue through demonstrations. The scouts will also have an opportunity to ask questions of those involved in Search and Rescue, perhaps even building a lifelong interest in the activity.
