EB Motion #18-25 – To approve a waiver for USCA member Jessy Gabriel and her dog Addi vom Schiffshebewerk, from regional participation for the 2025 USCA National Championship.

Motion by Julia Grayson, SC RD, and seconded by Robin Ayling, MC RD, to approve a waiver for USCA member Jessy Gabriel and her dog Addi vom Schiffshebewerk, from regional participation for the 2025 USCA National Championship.

Background:

I would like to ask for a Regional entry waiver for USCA member Jessy Gabriel and her dog Addi vom Schiffshebewerk, who was too ill to participate in our South Central Regional Championship in February 2025.

By May 2025, she was able to enter him in the WDC and passed with a 264, as well as the AWDF with a score of 270 (which includes the required 85 in protection). Jessy was originally planning on attending the Mid Central Regional Championship in October; however, she may not be able to attend the event due to the death of her family friend, kennel master, and primary trainer, King Barnes, who unexpectedly passed away at the age of 25 on August 9th.  She is looking for a trainer, but is concerned she will not be able to replace King’s position in time to go to the Mid Central Regional Championship.  

I believe Jessy has demonstrated her dedication to USCA and desire to compete in the 2025 National Championship by getting the dog healthy and participating in two National Championships (WDC & AWDF)
