Approve Judges for A and B Phases for the 2025 Working Dog Championship
EB# 07-25
EB Motion #07-25 – Approve Judges for A and B Phases for the 2025 Working Dog Championship
Motion by Nathaniel Roque, DOJ, on behalf of the USCA Judges Committee, seconded by Mike Diel, DAL and Judges Committee Member, to approve Judges for A and B Phases for the 2025 USCA Working Dog National Championship (WDC)
- (Tracking) – Michael Caputo, USCA
- (Obedience) – Trevor Elcock, USCA
Background:
The USCA Judges Committee had selected a judge for the C Phase; however, they have since been notified that they cannot attend. The Judge Committee is working to secure a judge for the C Phase and will present that judge to EB as soon as possible.
Based on the USCA Judge Program Requirements, the USCA Judges Committee has reviewed the applicants and USCA judges eligible to judge at the 2024 WDC and taken strongly into account the judges that the host club requested for the event.
In a unanimous vote, the Judges Committee recommends this slate of judges for the 2025 WDC. as qualified and able to provide an excellent and fair evaluation in each of the phases they are responsible for judging.
All judges selected have either judged at Championship levels in their selected phase or have completed a birichter in that phase and judged other phases in a National Championship.
The USCA Judges Committee always intends to provide the best-qualified judges for our championship events and always attempts to use USCA Judges as our first selection. This slate of Judges includes two USCA Judges who are not only highly qualified to judge a championship event but have actively judged over the past three years and attended the last Judges College. The Judges’ Committee of their choosing may also appoint a Head Judge to oversee the event on-site. The Head Judge for this event will be selected prior to the close of the entry date.
The Judges Committee may also appoint a Bi Richter in at least 1 phase of the event to continue to prepare a larger slate of USCA Judges for future Championship Events. The USCA Judges Committee will make USCA Judges selections for “Bi Richter” in each phase based on eligible USCA Judges with the intent that they will be selected for future events.
