2014 Youth Scholarship Awards

June 24, 2013

Four years have passed since the first Schutzhund USA Youth Scholarship was awarded. That recipient was Joelynn Zub, daughter of Karen and Craig Groh. Joelynn graduated this year with honors from California Lutheran University receiving a BS in Environmental Science. Three applications were received for the 2013 scholarship. Two applications were 100% complete, exceeding all requirements. One application was incomplete, and therefore disqualified.

Schutzhund USA Youth Scholarship Treasurer, Craig Groh, reported that donations to the fund have been steadily increasing over the years. Based upon the recommendations of the Treasurer, the committee is able to award two scholarships. Both applicants have been involved in the sport from a very young age and have achieved significant success. Both are outstanding roll models, gifted athletes, and academic scholars.

The Schutzhund USA Youth Scholarship Board is extremely proud of the outstanding achievements of both candidates. We are pleased to award the 2013 Schutzhund USA Youth Scholarship(s) to the following recipients:
